Update on Xavier: Textbooks Needed

Dear FOX members near and far,
We are well into the 3rd quarter this year and classes are going well, although our income from tuition is woefully short by $34,000 at present. We are still awaiting help through FSM with Aid to Non-public schools, and hope that this will come very soon!
Our annual Board of Directors meeting went very well last Saturday. The revised Articles of Incorporation and By-laws were approved. This will help update our legal status and enable us to move forward with the upcoming WASC accreditation process next school year. More legal documents will be needed in the months to come, but we are confident that all will be put in place before the next school year. Our budget for the next fiscal year was approved with increases in outlay for M&R and teaching resources (textbooks, etc). The total for the year will not be much different from this year, but we will be relying on help from you good folks to help make ends meet.
At the Board meeting, a list of needs foreseen for the next 4 years were listed with a certain prioritization and tentative target date and estimated cost for each. I’d like to share that list with you although I heard that some of you have already seen a rough draft of this and are thinking about adopting one or other of these projected needs for your fund raising efforts this year! That was music to my ears! So I have attached this list to this message in the hope that others among the Friends of Xavier groups will take on one or more of these needs. The first one on the list is for textbooks and teaching resources. I decided to break this down for you below.
You might want to pick one of these textbook needs as your contribution to the school’s educational enterprise rather than one of the other infrastructure needs on the attached list.
